Man I am having so much fun

In an effort to not buy a new laptop when this one really started becoming unusable (we hit 15 minutes of distance between opening the clamshell and getting onto my zoom calls), I wiped it and installed a lightweight Linux distro called Zorin, and in the week since I've been like, figuring it out and whatnot.

I've always kinda felt like I missed the boat on being like, A Real Millenial or smth as a teenager because I never really got into doing stuff with computers or websites or whatnot. Like, I've been online since I was 11 or 12, but I wasn't out here making gifs or AMVs or my own computers or whatnot. And now I am?? I mean, barely, this is explicitly designed to be Linux so easy to use Italian school systems are using it en masse, but I'm futzing around in the terminal and learning about different formats and googling around forums for advice.

The biggest challenge is the webcam drivers, which I now know I should have expected, and I've found some and the install instructions aren't quite working, but I'm like, figuring out certain steps, and I feel like I have good questions about how to do what I think needs to happen, and fun isn't exactly the right word, but I feel like I'm on a Quest to become a Real Boy and like, make my computer do stuff and I *love* it. I've always wanted to be an eccentric techie and it turns out the only thing I needed to do was... just fucking go for it.
